Greetings citizens. It’s been a very long time since I last talked with you all …. maybe too long. I have not disappeared from the edge of the earth as I’m sure most of you assumed. This post is long overdue ….. so lets get started.

Summer has come and passed quite quickly. I realized I mentioned that I was going to post a lot this summer (in my previous post), but a lot has come up unexpectedly, which may have set me back a bit. So I will try to recap all that has happened recently.

my grandmother:
My grandmother of 88 years was admitted to the Bayshore Medical Hospital on July 4th. She later passed away a few weeks later after suffering a stroke to the right side of her brain which caused her to enter into a state of coma. We had a funeral service a week after her passing, a funeral service in which my uncle and two cousins from Taiwan, after short notice, returned to attend. My uncle returned to Taiwan thereafter with my grandmother’s remains.

My grandmother lived a very content life. She was the mother of four wonderful children (2 boy and 2 girls) and was one of the most loving and caring people that I have ever met. I do not want to sound all sentimental, but she was honestly one of the greatest people to have lived …. at least in my mind. She serves as a reminder to me of all that is great in the world …. she will forever remind me (and I’m sure the rest of my family as well) of the importance of family and its everlasting quality ….. because family was all that she had, and that was all she needed.

Thinking back on the effect that my grandmother has had on me, I think of all the family gatherings that she was indirectly responsible for and I think of all the happiness that she was indirectly and directly responsible for. You see ….. if my grandmother had never made the trek over to America, there would be no excuse for my cousins to come over and visit. She basically was the glue to our family …. without her, I’m not sure what we would have done. We would all probably be very distant and not the close, operative family unit that we are now.

When I think of my grandmother, I think of the New York Yankees. You see …. my grandmother was the biggest Yankees fan. Without knowing any english, she could tell you the numbers of her favorite players and even tell you their opponent’s team name, well not their given team name, but rather the name she comes up for them in her mind.

When I think of my grandmother, I think of my freshman and sophmore years in high school. My aunt, who has taken care of my grandmother for almost all of her adult life, liked to take occassional, yet well-deserved vacations back to Taiwan. While away, my family would have to take care of my grandmother, which basically meant that I would have to heat up food for her after school every day and the such. We spent a lot of time together, time which I didn’t fully appreciate at the time, time which was spent mostly in silence, but most importantly, time together. I believe that our relationship transcended the language barrier that separated us …. we didn’t have to understand each other to enjoy our time together …..  being in each others presence was good enough for the both of us.

When I think of my grandmother, I think of her infectious laughter. Her radiance and laughter would light up the room everytime our family would gather together.

All sentiment aside, I felt that I needed to get this out there …. to maybe share with the world how great my grandmother really was. Rest in peace, grandma. Our thoughts are always with you.

A little change of pace right now …..

In other news, I am now attending Rutgers University and I have to say that it has been going great so far. The first few days were a bit slow, but now I think everyone is kind of settling down into their element. I’m living in Mettler on College Ave so just give me a call and maybe we can do something.

My sister is on a McDonald’s drink cup!

Many entries to ensue …… because of summer. Prepare yourselves.

Not only does he have a great name, but he also seems horribly misplaced amongst the names on the list.

With Richard Simmons phone number, one can only think of the possibilities  …..

I’ll try a new layout for my posts as of today …. I’ll have a title for everything I write, and hopefully, more times than not, they will have relevance to the post ….. you can be the judge.

I like to think that my posts are somewhat upper-crusty, if you will. However, I don’t want to say that my posts are in any way sophisticated. The posting process, in itself, is quite taxing on my brains (that’s right – plural). I know I haven’t been updating as often as I have in the past. Much can be attributed to the fact that I don’t find posting as fun as it used to be. Perhaps, if you prod me to post, I will …. but seeing how noone is in a hurry to … I’ll take my time.

So ….. at the moment, it seems that I will be going to Rutgers University; which, according to the Rutger’s manual, is considered a “Public Ivy League School”. Call it whatever you want, I will probably be going there, that is … of course, if USC does in fact not accept me, which at the moment is looking to be the case.

These past few weeks in Jersey have been quite interesting indeed. We’ve been bombarded by quite the heft of snow as our surroundings can certainly vouch for us. The feet of snowfall from the snowstorm a few weeks ago has still yet to melt. As a child I used to love playing in the snow …. but now as a teenager, its proved to be quite the obstacle as it has obstructed me from driving on the roads. Winter in February has some of its downsides …. Extremely cold toilet seats (don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about) and snowfall that does not allow you to leave your house.

Being stuck at home can be pretty boring …. My sister and I were literally a phone call away from getting an Ultimate Chopper. We watched the informercial for a good hour debating whether or not it was a sound investment. Observe!

Sleek yet simple …. Small yet powerful enough to cut even the densest of rocks! Quite the phenomenal invention. Sadly, we never ordered it.

I’ve also resorted to jamming on my guitar with my sister (if you can actually call it that). We actually sound good together considering that we both haven’t had a lesson in our lives and have taught ourselves. I realized that I was a boring person so I decided to take up the guitar, not that it’s changed anything.

The same sister who I’ve been spending most of my time with is due to be married over the summer. Being the glue to their relationship, I’ve been selected to be one of the groomsman (actually the only groomsman) only to be rivaled by my future brother-in-law’s brother (aka my other brother-in-law) Andrew, who is set to be the best man. Wedding tradition states that the best man and groomsman are both responsible for arranging the bachelor party for the groom. Seeing how Andrew and I are both under the age of 18, it presents slight problems. Luckily, Dave (the groom)’s friends will be taking care of the bachelor party. If not for them, we would have had the bachelor party at Chuck E. Cheese or maybe even Kumsung Karate where, according to their commercial, the Red Power Ranger greets you at your party. Evidently, they could not afford to get all of the Power Rangers. What a shame

Hello there ….. my golden delicious apples.

I have come to treat you with yet another post ….. just because I know you love reading about my uneventful life.

To tell you the truth ….. these past few weeks I have been mourning the separation of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. I thought their love would last forever. And as it happens, there was also some sort of volcanic eruption or earthquake that occurred in India a few weeks ago ….. but who really cares about that.

Oh ….. but I kid. Not that a tsunami is a laughing matter or anything ….

Note to self: I’m such an ass

There’s much to talk about …. so on with the post!

demetri martin:
I would like to plug one of my absolute favorite comedians …. he goes by the name of Demetri Martin ….. and has quite the uncanny resemblence to Jason Schwartzman. He’s a writer on the Conan O’Brien Show and is also a Yale law school dropout. If Jack Handy and Mitch Hedberg had a love child, he would surely be as funny as Demetri Martin.

Swimming is a confusing sport, because sometimes you do it for fun, and other times you do it to not die. And when I’m swimming, sometimes I’m not sure which one it is. I gotta go by the outfit. Pants – uh oh. Bathing suit – okay. Naked – we’ll see.

A drunk driver is very dangerous. Everybody knows that …. but so is a drunk backseat passenger if he’s persuasive.
   passenger: “Dude make a left”
driver: “But … those are trees”
   passenger:*whispers* Trust me”

I don’t like pinatas because the pinata promotes violence against flamboyant animals. “Hey there’s a donkey with some pizzazz …. let’s kick its ass.” Basically, what I’m trying to tell you is “Don’t make the same Halloween costume mistake that I did”.

If I have to move up in a building, I choose the elevator over the escalator. Because one time I was riding the escalator and I tripped. I fell down the stairs for an hour and a half.

Another term for “balloon” is: bad breath holder.

I wanna make a jigsaw puzzle that’s 40,000 pieces. And when you finish it, it says “go outside.”

I was in the cardstore the other day and they had cards that said “Get Well Soon” .. Screw that … “Get Well Now”
